Release for Version 1.1

June 24, 2026

This is the biggest update since launch. Seven new checks, a Speed system rebuilt from the ground up so it stops yanking your legit players around, Discord alerts, and full support for Paper 26.2. If you're running a server, the short version is: Talon catches more, false-flags less, and gives you better tools to keep an eye on things. Drop the new jar in and you're done — your config and flag history carry over.

Seven new things it catches

These all went through the same testing every Talon check does: run against real cheat clients until they're caught reliably, then run against normal play until they stop false-flagging. Here's what's new, in plain terms:

  • Timer — clients that speed up the game clock to move, hit, and place faster than everyone else. One of the sneakier hacks; this catches it without tripping on a laggy connection.
  • FastClimb — going up ladders and vines faster than the game allows.
  • Spider — scaling straight up walls like they aren't there.
  • AntiKnockback — players who shrug off knockback in combat and stand their ground when they shouldn't be able to.
  • AutoBlock — holding up a shield and attacking at the exact same time, which a real player physically can't do.
  • Scaffold — auto-bridging: placing blocks under their own feet faster than a human hand could.
  • FastUse & FastBow — eating, drinking, or loosing a bow quicker than the game permits.

A few of these (Scaffold, FastUse, FastBow) ship in alert-only mode for now while we finish proving them out on live servers — they'll warn your staff but won't punish. The rest are fully enforcing. You can change how any check behaves in /talon settings.

Quieter, and fairer to your players

The number one piece of feedback on an anticheat is "stop punishing my legit players." So a big chunk of this release went into exactly that:

  • Speed was rebuilt. It now tells the difference between a normal sprint-jump and an actual speed hack, so your players stop getting rubber-banded mid-jump. It still pins real cheaters fast.
  • Fixed the false flags people reported around blocking with a shield after a jump, and around certain falls.
  • The punishment ladder is gentler. It now takes a clear, repeated pattern to earn a kick, and bans only happen after several kicks — never off a single fluke. A stray flag will not ban one of your regulars.

Two new tools for owners

Discord alerts. Talon can now post detections straight to a Discord channel via a webhook, so you still see what's happening even when no staff are in-game. Turn it on in /talon settings and paste your webhook URL.

Public alerts. There's now an option to show detections to everyone on the server, not just staff. It's off by default, but it's great for community or test servers where you want players to see the anticheat working.

Now runs on Paper 26.2

We updated the underlying packet library so Talon loads cleanly on Paper 26.2 as well as 26.1. No action needed on your end beyond running the new jar.

What we removed — and why

We pulled the Criticals and Nuker checks. We'd rather not ship a detection we can't stand behind. Paper itself already blocks fake critical hits, and modern Nuker cheats spoof where the player is looking, which makes them genuinely indistinguishable from a fast legit miner. Keeping those checks around would only risk false flags without reliably catching anything — so they're gone, the same honest call we made earlier on AutoClicker and TriggerBot.

Updating

Drop talon-1.1.0.jar into your plugins folder (replacing the old one), then run /talon reload or restart. Your existing settings and flag history are kept — nothing to reconfigure.

Thanks for running Talon. Questions or a false flag to report? Hop in the Discord — we read everything.
